To apply for certain courses, you will need to provide evidence of previous study, for example your Bachelor’s Degree certificate. If your previous study was undertaken in a country other than the UK then you also need to provide a Statement of Comparability.

What is the UK ENIC?

UK ENIC (previously UK NARIC) is the UK national information centre for international qualifications and skills.

The Statement is a certificate that shows how your international qualification compares to qualifications provided by the UK education system. The University of Buckingham will require an ENIC statement for any overseas qualifications (usually your bachelor’s degree) to confirm your qualification meets their course entry criteria.

How can I apply for the Statement of Comparability?

You can apply for a Statement of Comparability’ online at www.enic.org.uk.

What will I need to complete my application?

During the application process, the ENIC will ask for:

  • final certificates from your completed qualifications (up to 4)
  • official transcripts showing all subjects and grades, signed and dated by the awarding institution (they are also known as mark sheets or grading sheets) 
  • certified translations if your documents are not in English (find out more about the Translation Waiver Service)
  • proof of identity (for example, your passport or driving license)
  • evidence of name changes, if your current name is different from the one on your qualifications (for example, a marriage certificate or change of name deed (opens in a new tab))
